Minor in Environmental Engineering

The CEE Department offers an undergraduate minor in environmental engineering for students not majoring in Civil Engineering. The minor program is available to students in other related departments who wish to take the subset of environmental engineering courses that CE students take for their major.

A student wishing to minor in this area should complete, with a minimum grade of C, and a minimum GPA of 2.25, a designated set of courses as follows:

  • Mth 254, 256;
  • Ph 221, 222, 223, 214, 215, 216;
  • Ch 221, 222, 227, 228;
  • EAS 361;
  • CE 362, 364, 371, 474;
  • a minimum of 4 hours of approved electives.

All courses must be taken for letter grade and at least one-third of the credit hours must be taken at PSU. Course requirements for the minor also meet partial eligibility requirements for admission to the CE program. Students who complete the requirements for the minor may wish to apply for admission to the CE program. Students planning to minor in environmental engineering should consult with an advisor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, and will need to apply for admission to the Environmental Engineering minor program.
