The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering offers several ways to continue your engineering education without the commitment of applying to a graduate program of study.
Fundamentals of Engineering Review Course
Offered Winter term 2010 - Fridays 4:00p to 6:50p - ASRC 230
Course fee = $125 ; course book is available at the bookstore
This review course is designed for those who have earned (or are within months of earning) their Bachelor degree in Engineering and are preparing to take the Fundamental of Engineering certification test administered by the Oregon State Board of Examiners (www.osbeels.org). This non-credit course is offered once per year in the winter term as preparation for the April test.
Professional Engineers Review Course
Offered Winter term 2010 - Tuesdays 6:30p to 9:20p - Engineering Building, Room 310
Course fee = $250; no book for this course
This review course is designed for those who have been working in the field for a while and wish to pursue a professional licence. The test is administered by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (www.ncees.org). This non-credit course is offered once per year in the winter term as preparation for the April test.

The course numbers (crn) are not searchable on the system so you will need to keep these handy when you are registering:

Course materials will be delivered via the online Blackboard system. All students will need to have a PSU ODIN account in order to login to the system. If you do not have an ODIN account please follow the instructions at this link: https://www.account.pdx.edu/
Special Topic Graduate Courses
Post-baccelaurate students may enroll in 500 and 600 level courses with the permission of the department chair. Please see the schedule of courses for current offerings. Students not currently admitted to PSU will need apply for postbaccalaureate admission.

CORMIX Mixing of Effluent Discharges in the Environment
Dr. Robert Doneker teaches workshops throughout the year on how to use the CORMIX model (see http://www.mixzon.com/training/).
CE-QUAL-W2 Water Quality and Hydrodynamic Modeling Workshop
Dr. Scott Wells and his research group conduct a yearly workshop on the CE-QUAL-W2 model. Information about this model is found at http://www.cee.pdx.edu/w2. This popular workshop draws many water quality working professionals from the Northwest and throughout the US. Participants have also included individuals from South Africa, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Switzerland, Germany, Brazil, Mexico, and Canada.
